Job Description

SPRINGFIELD SHIPPING COMPANY PANAMA S.A. member of Onassis Shipping Group is looking for a Shipping Training Coordinator, who will be responsible for designing, developing and ensuring the effective implementation of training and development programs for vessel staff and shore personnel.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Identifying, analyzing training needs and ensure that seafarers and shore personnel meet internal and external requirements for training
  • Develop and implement the Training Plan, based on Company’s training and development strategy
  • Designs, develops and manages the sea and shore training plan & development policies and procedures, in line with the Company’s business and plans, and ensures their effective implementation
  • Select appropriate training methods or activities, as well as research and recommend new training methods, in order to enhance the successfulness of training and development models
  • Assess instructional effectiveness and determine the impact of training on employee skills and KPIs

Job Requirements

Eligible candidates should meet the following requirements:

  • University graduate with an engineering/business/marine degree.  Additional academic accreditations such as postgraduate studies in Shipping, HR, or certifications in Marine Training will be highly regarded
  • Previous working experience as a Training Coordinator and/or Trainer and proven ability to complete a full training cycle
  • Prior experience of tankers and bulk carriers’ operations and equipment will be considered as an advantage
  • Fluency in English at an oral and written level
  • Flexibility for frequent visits on board is required
  • MS Office Proficiency
  • Danaos ERP knowledge and any other learning management system will be considered as an advantage
