Job Description

Olympic Shipping and Management SA, a member of Onassis Shipping Group is looking for a Purchasing Manager, who will be responsible for redefining the Shipping division’s purchasing operating model and implementing dynamic policies and procedures. Main responsibilities include:

  • Manage the existing purchasing department team
  • Implement improvements to the current purchasing system that will reduce costs, improve vendor relationships and ensure material quality and timely delivery
  • Review and manage contracts with external suppliers
  • Liaise with other departments regarding their purchasing requirements and work within their available budgets to source materials/services appropriate to their needs
  • Reporting of key performance metrics and benchmarks on a regular basis
  • Analyse vendor performance and review deficiencies with vendors and define action plans with the vendors to correct these deficiencies

Job Requirements


Eligible candidates should meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in Logistics, Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or other relevant subject
  • Minimum of 10 years of work experience in relevant position
  • Previous experience within the Shipping industry will be considered as an asset
  • Technical purchasing skills, including supplier management, Operational effectiveness, Contracting, Risk management and sustainability
  • Proficient in written and spoken English  
  • MS Office Applications and DANAOS Shipping software
